You never know your question could be answered below. We look forward to seeing your image!
The Lemonade and Lenses Cover Contest is open.
Lemonade and Lenses August Cover Contest – 6.17-6.24
THEME – Boudior
- Lemonade and Lenses is ecstatic to have our monthly cover contest sponsored by our favorite lab, ProDPI, for 2013! -
Only ONE entry per person per month, please.
Contest runs from the 17th to the 24th at midnight (EST) for this month.
Image must be clean with no watermark.
Image must be VERTICAL and sized to 8.5×11 inches at 72dpi. Please DO NOT send in high-res images.
Please send in your full name as well as your website with your submission.
Photographers must have a model release signed by the subject in the image, or legal guardian if the subject is under 18. Winners will be asked to show proof of this (pets, still life, and images that do not show a face will not need this).
Please make sure your submission goes along with what niche the specific issue is, which is listed above next to theme.
Picture your image as a magazine cover. Is there room at the top for our title? Remember we pick our images based on what image not only stands out among the rest but works best as a magazine cover.
Feel free to check out the covers of past issues to get an idea of what style we like. You can do so HERE.
Colored images work best for a magazine cover. Also images that are edited clean, meaning no vintage tones or special editing. We love simple.
Images where the subject fills most of the image are more likely to be chosen.
We don’t include anything on our cover except for the title and issue number. So make sure there is room for that and make sure a simple colored font can be read easily over that area.
Lastly, the template we use has to include an area for trim so even though we love images where the subject fills most of the space we do need some room for cropping.
Again the best way to get an idea of what works is to check out the covers of past issues.
Submissions for our August 2013 cover will be accepted from the 17th of June to the 24th of June.
Images must be submitted via e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject line “L&L cover contest”
Submissions posted to our blog or Facebook do not count and will be disregarded.
Please name your file after your name. For example I’m Lexi Vornberg so I would name my entry LexiVornberg.JPG. This just makes it easier on me.
We will then pick our cover based on an image that not only stands out among the others but also works as a magazine cover.
We will also list our honorable mentions on our Facebook page along with credit to those images.
The winner will then be responsible for sending in their images sized 8.5×11 at 300dpi along with a copy of the model release she/he had the client sign, by the end of the month.
You are only allowed to submit an image you own full copywriter to.
Images taken on a commercial shoot or during a workshop are not eligible to be entered.
All images MUST be appropriate.
The winner will be contacted within three business days after the contest is closed.
Honorable Mentions will be posted on our Facebook page on the 27th or 28th of the month.
Winners of our cover contests are not eligible to win again for one year after your months issue runs.
By voluntarily submitting an image to Lemonade and Lenses LLC you understand that your image might be shared publicly on our Facebook page, on our blog, or used as the cover image for a Lemonade and Lenses Issue.
You also understand and agree that the winning cover image is also used, as in the cover design, for promotional material for Lemonade and Lenses.
Photos, text, business names, and any and all other items sent in remain the property of the their respected owners.
Please know Lemonade and Lenses issues are available in both print and in digital and are distributed all over the world.
The winner will receive recognition in that issue and a copy of the issue in digital and printed form, as long as winner is located in the USA or Canada. If winner is located out of that area there may be a shipping charge.
The winner will also receive a 20×30 gallery wrap with the image of their choice, from our wonderful sponsor, ProDPI.
Only the photographer will receive recognition in the issue.
