Being a military wife, a lot of my business comes from other military families. It is so common for most of these families to be away from each other for 7+ months. Photos of their loved ones become treasures during times of separation, and unfortunately sometimes end up being their last . This session is of another wife, who has grown to be one of my best friends. Her husband is just starting his demanding career as a Marine Corps Drill Instructor for 3 years. The work hours are long and family time is very short in between 3 month cycles. Even living within 5 minutes of the base, it’s a rare occasion to come home to just sleep! The two boys absolutely hate my camera. Every time they see it in my hands, they furrow their brows, holler and turn around to run for their lives! Despite their opinions of my camera, we finally made some time to take their photos and I am so happy we did. They ended up doing awesome (with a little bribe of a treasure box filled with goodies at the end) and now something that was long overdue and necessary will be enjoyed for generations to come.
