I’m a lifestyle photographer based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, that’s been in the business of capturing memories for just over 2 years now. I shoot a wide variety of sessions but one of my all-time faves is engagements…there’s something really special about capturing two people just before they join their lives into one journey together. Recently, an inquiry for an engagement session quickly resulted in my favorite engagement session to date with the added enthusiasm of my clients and their willingness to incorporate “themselves” into their session – making it more personal and unique. With both of them being from out of town, and no plans of living here, we were on the hunt to find a location and do a session that would be personal and intimate, in a place they’d never been to before, on a rare weekend they were able to spend together. We plotted, emailed and chatted on the phone to plan a two part session, the first half with a funky yet classy feeling at a private transportation museum and the second half featuring a casual outdoor brunch, which we did at our Botanical Gardens. My clients were perfectly dressed for both locations adding to the feel of the images and a cohesiveness between the location and the subjects. They were comfortable and laid back in front of my camera and so stinking fun, too! We had a blast together as we all froze in the un-heated museum and later as I drooled over their brunch at the gardens. This session captures a sweetness and intimacy between man and soon-to-be wife that I know they will cherish for years to come.
