I am a natural light photography who specializes in child photography because I am a mom of three boys and I love how fun kids can be. I also shoot maternity and family. I think family photography is one of my favorites, because I adore watching the different dynamics each one has. I love to use backlighting as I feel it gives my photos a dreamy appearance. I also enjoy the challenges that shooting into the sun brings.
For this session, a close childhood friend contacted me wanting some *two week later* bridal shots. She loves her dress and wanted an excuse to put it on one more time. I was so happy she asked me because, although I don’t normally photograph brides/weddings, I knew this would be a great learning experience. Before the session, I tried pulling inspiration from the dress itself. It really has a whimsical feel to it and I wanted to play that up for our session. I made a few decorations, such as the crochet hoops with lace, and rented a bird cage from A la crate vintage rentals. Picked up a few feathers and we were good to go. Our location was at the brides mother in laws, which I have shot at before, so it was all about getting the timing right. We choose sunset, of course, and really lucked out the sun was still shining brightly. I hope you enjoy looking through my photos.
