This session was put together to document my son turning 4. I had spent quite a bit of time thinking of what kind of details I could incorporate into it, but when the day finally came around the one thing that stuck out to me was simplicity. I just wanted to capture him, every ounce of who he is. He is such a light to my world, a pure source of joy. I wanted to capture his laughter, his spunk, his playful soul. In the end, I feel I more than accomplished what I set out to do. I am head over heels in love with these images.
The connection that I felt photographing him as well as now looking at these images, is incredible. This is his life, his complete essence. Years from now when I look back on these images, I will be able to experience just who he is in this moment all over again. It is for this purpose that I love what I do. To be able to share this with others is such a gift, and I am beyond thankful for it.
Photography has changed my life. It has given me such a new perspective. Every single time I pick up my camera, I see into a whole different world. A world of connection, of life, love, & happiness. As a photographer, I get the opportunity to freeze time. I get to capture a feeling, and give someone a way to relive it over and over again.
